The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $3.13 per share.

The industrial equipment maker posted revenue of $1.38 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.35 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $944.4 million, or $9.05 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.19 billion.

For the current quarter ending in April, Roper Technologies expects its per-share earnings to range from $2.74 to $2.80. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had forecast adjusted earnings per share of $2.78.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $12 to $12.40 per share.
